Pregnancy is awesome and wonderful, but it can also be stressful and definently takes a toll on your body. Do these things for you before going into labor to make your life easier!
1. Get a Haircut
I went and got my hair cut pretty short before I went into labor. I was sooo glad I did!! It was so much easier to care for after my son was born. Even if you don’t chop it all off, go ahead and get a cute style. It will be a while before you go get a haircut again! Plus it makes you feel better when you feel huge and are too exhausted to do your makeup. Bonus, take some maternity pictures after they style your hair. That’s what we did! 2. Go on a date
Go out on a date night with your husband! Pick a place with food your craving and have a nice evening out. It may be a while before you get to go out on a date again.
I think some people try and plan too many last minute dates and activities before they go into labor. Don’t forget to rest! Your body needs it! Enjoy sleeping through the night and getting up as late as you want, those days are almost over. 🙂
4. Freezer meals/snacks
Oh the nesting stage! Where you fill up your freezer with tons of meals! But don’t forget snacks, too! If you are breastfeeding, you are going to be hungry every three hours. Unless I’m visiting my parents house I rarely eat three meals. I usually just snack throughout the day! Stock up on healthy granola bars, salty snacks and a few treats. Making freezer smoothie packs is a great idea, too!
This was the last thing I wanted to do when my feet were sooo swollen. Who wants to walk around and dust and vacuum at that point? But trust me, you will be glad you did! You will feel much less like doing it after the baby is born and you won’t have the time. I remember trying to motivate myself to do the dishes before I left for my doctors appointment. I felt like I should but didn’t want to! Well I didn’t actually come home from my doctor’s appointment, I was kept over night at the hospital and induced the next day and my son was born! Coming home to see dishes in the sink so would have stressed me out but my awesome Mom came over and washed them for me!
